It was on Monday morning that Trosagården received the news that three users had been affected by covid-19.

It is currently unclear how the infection came in and infection tracing is ongoing in collaboration with Region Sörmland.

- It is very sad to get infection and pity for those affected, says the housing unit manager Emelie Littorin.

She says that they had time to prepare and that the right skills and protective equipment are in place to handle the situation.

Department is blocked off

According to the municipality's routines, the department that is affected will now be blocked off and something called cohort care will be initiated.

Stricter routines around hygiene and staff turnover.

- I want to highlight the talented staff who are struggling with this, says Emelie Littorin.

Many visits

In light of the three confirmed cases, the municipality strongly advises against visiting nursing homes.

The advice applies until further notice.

- Since the curfew was lifted last summer, many have longed to visit their relatives and there have been many visits, says Fredrik Yllman, head of care and nursing.

- The problem right now is also that it has been bad weather and then the visits have taken place indoors.

Then the risk of spreading the infection is greater.
