Al-Nuaimi said, in an interview with Emirates Today, that the department oversees several projects to develop the emirate’s facilities and infrastructure, including the construction of new roads that serve commercial, industrial and residential areas to meet their future needs in line with the strategic objective (developing an integrated infrastructure) through a package of projects. He explained that internal roads are being constructed in the Al Helio area, along (6.5 km), at a cost of about 7.5 million dirhams, to ensure easy and comfortable access for residents to their homes, and to construct roads in the Nuaimiya 1 area with sidewalks, parking lots and a rainwater drainage network, and it has now reached the fourth stage, with an achievement rate of 88 %, And the project will be completed before the end of this year.

Al-Nuaimi indicated that the department is supervising the construction of roads in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed area, with a length of (seven kilometers) at a cost of 14 million dirhams, with a completion rate of 80%, and the work is expected to be completed before the end of this year, pointing to the development project of the Rashidiya Interchange at a cost of 150 million Dirhams, to connect Sheikh Khalifa Street with Abdullah bin Aboud and Badr streets, to accommodate the traffic movement and achieve a smooth flow of movement in all directions, and the completion rate is 75%, and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

He added that the department supervises the implementation of corrective and preventive maintenance work in accordance with the plans prepared for maintenance work.

He revealed that the number of gardens in Ajman reached 25 gardens for families, apart from the gardens of Al Naseem, Al Hikma and Mazraa for Women, pointing out that the current green area in the emirate has reached more than two million square meters, and about 1426 trees and 750 thousand flowers have been planted in them.

He mentioned that the number of building permits issued by the department since the beginning of this year amounted to 2236, indicating that 95 violations were issued against building owners for not adhering to laws and requirements, and 95 violations by contractors for non-compliance with security and safety requirements and building requirements.

Al-Nuaimi stated that 3569 monitoring and inspection campaigns were carried out on food fairs and stores during the past ten months, which resulted in the issuance of 581 violations and 358 warnings, and the closure of 218 establishments, indicating that most of the violations focused on non-compliance with health conditions for the health and cleanliness of workers, requirements for food preparation and processing, and lack of Adherence to the conditions of the necessary cleaning and disinfection operations, and non-compliance with preventive measures to address the Corona pandemic.

He said that the department has made efforts to regulate the housing of bachelors, and the committee has received 456 complaints about the presence of singles in the families' areas, and as soon as they are proven, violators are given a notification to vacate the property.

Al-Nuaimi indicated that the department carried out 2,267 environmental monitoring rounds on industrial facilities, to ensure the availability of the required environmental requirements, which resulted in warning and violating 587 establishments, as part of the department’s efforts to preserve the health and safety of the environment and combat pollution, and 1710 environmental licenses were approved for new and existing facilities. .

He indicated that the department has enhanced the quality of water and air, through the implementation of the second phase of the smart monitoring and sustainability project 2, to provide a specialized electronic system for managing environmental data and displaying it in a way that contributes to making decisions in a sound manner, and integrates with the first phase of the smart control vehicle, indicating that the department operates a processing unit Liquid waste generated from the central slaughterhouse through a specialized company to ensure environmental protection, to ensure that the effluent meets environmental standards, and to add units to reduce odors resulting from sewage sludge and the landfill in the designated waste dump in Ajman.

He emphasized that the Lease Contracts Section seeks to provide the sector with the latest means to facilitate the tenants and ensure their comfort, as an email has been created for the department to receive remote transactions, activate the remote litigation service through the “Zoom” program, and create a visual communication service with auditors (Gereeb).
