Abu Dhabi Health Ministry receives 206 scientific research projects on Corona

The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has received more than 206 scientific research projects since the launch of the research record on the "Covid-19" pandemic, which was developed in coordination with the Advanced Technology Research Council, in a move to support scientific research and accelerate the pace of discoveries and innovations that would contribute to the growth of Scientific efforts made to confront the virus.

The research projects submitted by the Abu Dhabi Subcommittee on Medical Research Ethics for the pandemic are evaluated and approved within only one week of the date of submission, as the committee bases its work on international best practices in evaluating and reviewing research, and works around the clock to speed up the process of starting research. So far, 174 papers have been approved, and 13 papers are in the process of being published.

The research topics received by the registry varied, as the number of studies focused on addressing the most important questions about the spread of the virus and the latest diagnostic methods reached 76 research papers, 88 papers on epidemiology and the study of its spread, 18 researches on the treatment and management of “Covid-19”, and new drugs to be tested.

The Director of the Health Care Quality Department at the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Dr. Asma Al Mannai, said: “The pandemic research record has laid a solid foundation for researchers and professionals working in the field of epidemic control, as we have received a large number of promising research projects that will contribute to enhancing discoveries and pushing forward. The wheel of scientific innovations to confront the virus and control the epidemic in the world, and we are confident that these projects will have a tangible positive impact, which will have a tangible impact on the quality of health care services provided to patients by directly linking them to the results of these research, and thus establishing Abu Dhabi's position as a pioneering and pioneering destination in scientific research In the region and the world ».

Among the researches that have been reviewed, there are a number of clinical trials to prove the effectiveness of some drugs used worldwide to treat the virus, or to find a vaccine that contributes to its elimination through the virus's DNA, or the formation of antibodies against the virus.

The clinical trials of "Covid-19" in the emirate are among the first global clinical trials of the third phase of the inactive "Covid-19" vaccine in the UAE.
