The head of WHO went to self-isolation after contact with a patient with coronavirus

“It was established that I had contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19,” Gebreyesus wrote on his Twitter.

I have been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for # COVID19.

I am well and without symptoms but will self-quarantine over the coming days, in line with @WHO protocols, and work from home.

He noted that he has no symptoms of the disease, but he goes into self-isolation in accordance with WHO protocols.

Ghebreyesus also stressed the importance of complying with measures to combat the spread of the virus.
