The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense said that the Armenian army targeted Azerbaijani army units and population centers in several routes and destinations, using various types of weapons, including heavy artillery and missiles.

A statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry said that the fighting continued from night until this morning.

Clashes also took place in the axis of Agdera, Agdam, Khujanfid and Qubadli, and the Armenian side lost a lot of its forces as a result of those combat operations.

The statement also indicated that Azerbaijani forces destroyed armored vehicles, a Grad missile launcher, 8 howitzers and two communication towers, in addition to other weapons and equipment.

For its part, the Armenian Ministry of Defense accused the Azerbaijani army of violating the Geneva Accords that were signed on Friday, by targeting civilians in the city of Shushi.

Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakyanian confirmed that Azerbaijan used white phosphorous munitions over forests near populated areas inhabited by civilians.

He said in a tweet that what Azerbaijan is doing is a complete violation of its obligations and international law.

Defenders of human rights in Armenia stated that the white phosphorous that is used goes far beyond the harms of forests to infecting people who have sought shelter in these forests to shelter from the bombing.

In the same context, the Emergency Department in the Karabakh region said that Azerbaijan continued to direct strikes by using Grad and Smearch missiles and the air force on Martoni, Askeran and others, and that the bombing caused massive damage.

Russian support

In parallel with these developments, Russia confirmed that it will provide the necessary support to Armenia based on the mutual defense treaty between the two countries, only in the event that the war moves into Armenian territory.

With the continuation of the war in the Karabakh region, the underground shelters opened their doors to receive women and the elderly in many cities in the region, while many people preferred to flee to the Armenian capital Yerevan, for fear of bombing and destruction.

Although the displaced hope that their displacement journey will be short, developments in the field situation indicate that returning to their homes may not be close.
