Monday morning, French school children will pay tribute to Samuel Paty, teacher assassinated before the All Saints holidays.

Emmanuelle Rigon, psychologist, explains on Europe 1 how to prepare students for this moment and limit their worry.

A return to school unlike any other.

On Monday, the students are back on the road to school, college and high school, in full confinement and while the mask is now compulsory from six years old.

But this day will also and above all be marked by a tribute paid to Samuel Paty, a History teacher assassinated a few meters from his school just before the All Saints holidays.

How to prepare children, especially if they are sensitive, at this time?

"This affects them a lot: school and the teacher or teacher are part of their life, and they spend a lot of time with him", warns at the microphone of Europe 1 the psychologist Emmanuelle Rigon, author at Albin Michel of the book

To reassure him, the specialist therefore recommends explaining to his child that we will "pay particular attention to schools" and that "when he is inside, he will necessarily be protected".

According to Emmanuelle Rigon, it is also useful to remember that "the surroundings of the school will be monitored" and that "the crime was committed near" the establishment. 

"It may be useful to accompany them"

"This should help them to be less anxious," says the psychologist.

"It may be useful to accompany them to school, perhaps on the first day of school, or to come back to pick them up," she finally advises.
