France: the automotive market plunges nearly 10% in October
The automotive market plunged in October by nearly 10% over one year for new vehicles, due to the global health crisis.
The end of the year promises to be difficult with the reconfinement.

The French automobile market collapsed in October by nearly 10% over one year for new vehicles, due to the global health crisis.
Conversely, the second-hand market jumped 11%.
According to figures published by the Committee of French Automobile Manufacturers (CCFA), the Renault group shows the largest drop, its competitor Peugeot PSA is doing much better.

After excellent results last year at the same time, new vehicle sales this year in October fell 9.5%.
Over the first ten months of the year, they plunged almost 27%.
French manufacturers are resisting better than their foreign counterparts, who on average are down by just over 14%, with large differences between brands.
Volkswagen, the leading importer in France, saw its sales fall by more than 8%, BMW by around 23% and Toyota by almost 32%.
Among the French,
the Renault group
recorded the largest decline with a drop of almost 10%, due in part to the poor performance of Dacia.
Its competitor Peugeot PSA is doing much better.
Over one year, its sales fell only nearly 2.8%.
The poor performance of Citroën was offset by the good results of Opel and Peugeot.
The Peugeot 208 remains the best-selling car of the year.
Opportunity is popular
The market for hybrid and electric cars is growing: in one year, its volume has almost tripled.
But the big winner this year is the second-hand market, up 11%.
The end of the year promises to be difficult for the new car market,
with the re-containment
decreed for one month.
