The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai reported that it issued 1,749 violations against taxis in Dubai during the third quarter of this year, for failing to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to limit the spread of the "Covid-19" virus.

She pointed to intensifying supervision and inspection of taxi drivers, and redoubling efforts by judicial control officers to control erroneous practices and behaviors in the field and reduce risks.

The authority explained that it had set up spare buses to run on crowded lines, as the number of passengers on the buses was determined according to the type of the bus, and to ensure that there was a spacing between bus passengers.

And she confirmed the replacement of the type of buses from regular to double-decker buses, in preparation for their distribution on some crowded lines, in addition to the use of about 150 drivers of transport across cities, to work on monitoring service provision in crowded parking, and to ensure the application of social distancing between passengers.
