In the densely populated parts inside Karlstad, it is not possible to gather for traditional memorial services during pandemic times.

Instead, the churches will be open for candle lighting and there will be large paintings with the names of all those who have died during the year.

- All Saints' Day is a tradition that has become increasingly important for people.

This year, the weekend is perhaps extra important because we are reminded of how life can quickly affect us with great force, says Eva-Lott Isaksson, priest in Norrstrand parish.

In Karlstad's pastorate's smaller parishes outside the city, memorial services will be divided on more occasions.

#who do you remember

The Church of Sweden is also investing this year in a digital campaign that encourages people to tell on social media who they remember under the hashtag #who do you remember.

- Everyone has someone they miss and think about.

Therefore, it feels good to now, on All Saints' Day, urge not only to think about it or them but also to share.

Shared grief is half grief, they say, and in the church there is always, all year round, the opportunity to talk about grief, says Marie Lundström, communicator.
