In the aftermath of the Nice attack, where three people were murdered with a knife in the Notre-Dame basilica to the cry of "Allah Akbar", the incomprehension and the shock remain.
Christian Estrosi, LR mayor of the city, claims the power to act on Europe 1 in the face of "Islamofascism".

"I want, as mayor, to be able to pronounce the administrative closure of a place of worship where I know that things are happening that are not in accordance with the values of the Republic," he adds.
"I want to be able to close a school without contract when it does not respect the principles of the French Republic."
Using facial recognition
Christian Estrosi asks that the power to do things be shared "between the State and the mayors who have the will to act".
"I have a surveillance camera network of 3,800 cameras, which we have developed artificial intelligence and facial recognition, but because of a dusty institution that is the CNIL, successive governments keep opposing me that we cannot use facial recognition, that I do not have the right to have the files of dangerous people present in my territory or to have the name and address of people turned back for asylum and who do not have not returned home.
