It is reported that four people died in a 7.0 earthquake in the Aegean Sea in western Turkey, on a scale of 30 days.



AFP news agency reported that the earthquake killed four and wounded 120 people.



The US Geological Survey says a 7.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea in western Turkey.



The earthquake is believed to have occurred in a sea area about 14 km from the Greek city of Nengno Karlovacion on Samos Island in the Aegean Sea.



The Disaster and Crisis Management Agency in Turkey estimated the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.6 and said the epicenter was 16.5km underground.



Izmir Mayor Tuns Soyer, the capital of Izmir in western Turkey, told CNN Turk that about 20 buildings had collapsed.



Izmir is Turkey's third largest city, with 4.5 million inhabitants.



Building collapse can cause more casualties as residents are crushed by debris.



Turkish President Rezef Taif Erdogan said he is "ready to help with all available resources."
