On Tuesday, the Swedish Public Health Agency, together with Region Skåne's infection control doctors, decided to tighten the corona councils in Skåne.

The effect of the message came quickly.

- Yesterday everything was as normal, today we have almost no bookings, says Susanne Modig, store manager at India body piercing at Väla.

"Do not stroll around"

Refraining from fun shopping and avoiding indoor environments where there is a risk of congestion are some of the advice.

- We recommend our customers to come here and carry out their errand, maybe buy that winter jacket, then you go home again.

Do not stroll around for hours, says Niklas Blonér, center manager.

The announcement can also mean a severe blow to Christmas shopping.

Last year, Christmas shopping online grew - now e-commerce can appear even more attractive.

Even for city shopping, yesterday's message came as a cold shower.

- This throws us back to how it was last spring.

We can only hope that the spread of infection is reduced and that the restrictions are eased before Christmas shopping, says Hanna Candell, CEO of Helsingborg city.

Is there a concern?

- Of course there is a concern.

But the need to consume and buy gifts during Christmas will remain.

We will do shopping, but the question is in what way.

E-commerce is likely to increase, but we also believe that many are willing to support local stores.

City hosts can be introduced

Current recommendations are valid until 17 November.

- Now the stores need to review the routines and measures that we started this spring;

possibility of home delivery and street shopping for example.

You may need to set a doorbell and meet customers outside the store.

We may introduce hosts in the city who keep an extra eye on whether queues are formed, says Hanna Candell.
