According to the indictment, the man must on five occasions have called the police alarm center and on one occasion received calls from the police and then provided incorrect information about placing bombs at various addresses in Umeå.

He is also said to have placed a bag next to Willys which he claimed contained a bomb.

The police then sent in the bomb squad which was allowed to neutralize the bag, which afterwards turned out to be empty.

In the lawsuit, several traders claim damages for, among other things, non-sale, the total claim amounts to SEK 483,273 excluding interest.

Convicted of similar crimes before

The prosecutor has said that the incident is linked to bad mental health, the man is known to the police since before and has been convicted of similar crimes.

From the lawsuit:

"Through its actions, NN has provided incorrect information that there was a danger to other people's lives or health as well as a danger of extensive destruction of property.

The crime should be considered serious in view of the extensive harmful effects.

NN committed the act with intent. "
