In detail, the media spokesperson for the Makkah Region Police, Major Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, stated that the Special Force for Diplomatic Security managed to arrest a citizen in the fourth decade of his life after he attacked a security guard at the French Consulate in Jeddah, resulting in minor injuries.
The spokesman added, according to the online newspaper Sabq, "The injured was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, and the perpetrator was arrested and regular measures taken against him."
The French embassy in Riyadh confirmed that the consulate had been attacked, noting that the security guard had been transferred to the hospital, where his health condition was not a cause for concern.
