The European Football Association (UEFA) announced that Barcelona captain Lionel Messi set a European Champions League record in his team's match on Wednesday against Juventus.

Messi led Barcelona to a 2-0 victory over Juventus, where he scored one goal and set another at the Allianz Stadium in Turin in the second round, to lead the Catalan team to the top of Group G with 6 points.
