"The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun to continuously monitor the actions of a group of mine-sweeping forces of the united NATO Navy, which entered the Black Sea on October 29," RIA Novosti quoted a statement from the fleet.

The NATO group includes the Aliakmon multipurpose transport vessel of the Greek Navy, the French Navy's Orion minesweeper-finder, the Italian naval minesweeper Alghero, and the Spanish Navy's base minesweeper Duero.

Earlier, the Black Sea Fleet submarines Veliky Novgorod and Kolpino conducted joint exercises.
