The borders of the Community of Madrid will remain closed during the Todos los Santos bridge to try to put a containment dam to the second wave of the coronavirus if the central government allows it to do so only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This has been decided by the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, after holding a meeting with her counterparts from Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández-Mañueco, this afternoon in Ávila.

According to the latest balance of the Ministry of Health, in Madrid 28,655 positives for coronavirus have been registered in the last 14 days, with a cumulative incidence of 430 cases per 100,000 inhabitants;

in Castilla y León 16,811 cases and an incidence of 700;

and in Castilla-La Mancha 9,370 cases and an incidence of 460.

Díaz Ayuso has made the decision to close Mardrid after his own Governing Council expressed divergent positions on the matter on Wednesday.

On the one hand, the members of the Citizens' wing, led by the vice president, Ignacio Aguado, have defended the closure, while at least four of the PP -Javier Fernández Lasquetty, Paloma Martín, María Eugenia Carballedo and David Pérez- have advocated the opposite position , as EL MUNDO has learned.
