Emmanuel Macron announced Wednesday the return of confinement throughout the national territory from Friday for at least a month, but without closing schools.
"I decided that it was necessary to find from Friday, the confinement which stopped the virus. The whole national territory is concerned", specified the head of state who also added that it would last "at a minimum "until December 1.
"This confinement will be adapted on three main points: the schools will remain open, the work will be able to continue, the Epahd and the retirement homes will be able to be visited", he added.
"As in spring, you can leave your home only to work, to go to a medical appointment, to provide assistance to a loved one, to do your essential shopping or to take the air near your home", detailed the president of the Republic.
"So it's the return of the certificate as in the spring," he said.
"Private meetings outside the strict family nucleus will therefore be excluded, public gatherings will be prohibited and you will not be able to move from one region to another, with the exception of returning from the All Saints holiday".
He said in this regard: "There will be tolerance during this return weekend so that everyone can return from their vacation spot, so that families can organize themselves."
"Shops which were defined in the spring as non-essential, establishments open to the public, in particular bars and restaurants, will be closed," he added.
The places of culture and theaters were not mentioned but they were among the places closed in the spring.
