The National Assembly held a plenary session this afternoon (29th) and voted on an arrest motion against Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Jeong-soon who is accused of violating election laws in the general election in April.

Chung's motion for arrest was reported to the plenary session of the National Assembly yesterday, and it must be voted within 72 hours after the 24-hour processing time limit under the National Assembly Act.

The motion to arrest an incumbent lawmaker is passed by a majority attendance of the current lawmakers and a majority of the present lawmakers.

The party leadership has pressured him to voluntarily attend the prosecution, but he has refused to comply with the prosecution's investigation for reasons such as state affairs audit.
