"I can't breathe. I want to go back to my family."

Last year, the last voices of Vietnamese people who lost their lives in a container while trying to smuggle into the UK following the'British Dream' were released.

According to AFP News and Daily Mail on the 29th, a voice message that reminds us of the last desperate moments before the smugglers died inside the container was released in the case of the collective death of Vietnamese smugglers at the Central Criminal Court in the UK on the 27th (local time). Done.

These Vietnamese who were trying to smuggle into the UK were found suffocating in a container in an industrial complex in Essex, in southeastern England on October 23 last year.

They ranged from 15-year-old children to 44-year-old adults, including 10 minors.

It was investigated that the smugglers were trapped for 12 hours or more in a container with a high temperature rising to 38.5 degrees Celsius, and suffocated and died.

According to the contents of the trial, the containers hidden by smugglers were loaded on a cargo ship going from the Port of Seebrus in Belgium to the Port of Perpit in England on October 22 at about 3pm.

Containers with smugglers were placed on the open-air deck.

It means that they had to endure the weather and rain and wind at around 14 degrees Celsius.

On the same day, a selfie of a smuggler was taken at 6:25 pm, showing sweating and hot weather.

One to two hours later, smugglers who felt breathing difficulties in an enclosed space began to try to contact the outside world.

When they were struck by a dead end in another country where they couldn't speak, they dialed the emergency number of the Vietnamese police in their home country, but the call was not successful.

Nguyen Toh Thuan, who was 25 at the time, left a voice message on his cell phone recorded to his family, saying, "I'm sorry. I can't take care of you anymore. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I can't breathe."

He said, "I want to go back to my family. I have to live well."

In the voice message of 20-year-old Nguyen Jin Luong, smugglers tried to open the container.

After Luon's voice saying, "I can't breathe. I'm sorry. I have to go now," a voice saying "Hey everyone, let's open the door" was recorded.

In a later voicemail, Luong said to his family, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."

This became Luon's'will'.

The voice message recorded another smuggler saying, "He (Luong) is dead."

In the mass death of Vietnamese smugglers, Maurice Robinson, 26, a truck driver who carried containers loaded with smugglers, has been charged with manslaughter and conspiracy to smuggle smugglers.

Robinson opened the container immediately after loading the container at the port and saw the bodies of smugglers, but instead of contacting the police immediately, Robinson spoke with other defendants, and it was investigated that he went around the industrial complex.
