has marked a new increase in Covid-19 cases with over 11 thousand positives confirmed in the last 24 hours.

According to data released by the Robert Koch-Institut, there were 11,409 daily infections and 42 deaths in the country.

The total toll since the beginning of the pandemic has risen to 449,275 cases and 10,098 victims.

French President Emmanuel Macron meets a Defense and National Security Council dedicated to the Coronavirus crisis this morning.

Speaking on France Inter today, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said that "difficult decisions must be expected".

"I don't know what exactly these decisions will be, added the minister, in a phase in which
