Twitter, with the approach of the American elections of November 3, broadcasts since Monday prominently on its news feed messages intended to warn its users of possible maneuvers of disinformation on the postal vote and the results.

The social network, which has been multiplying for several months the measures to try to limit the erroneous remarks on the polls, says it wants to help Internet users "to stay informed on these essential subjects", according to its official TwitterSupport account.

The group called these messages "pre-bunk", because they are intended to be broadcast upstream of potential contentious comments, which the group also plans to deny ("debunk").

“Research shows that staying ahead of disinformation is a powerful way to build resilience,” said Yoel Roth, the platform's integrity manager, on his own account.

Traumatized by the 2016 polls, American social networks Facebook and Twitter are seeking to protect their platforms from campaigns of manipulation and disinformation.

On a Twitter message on Monday, it read: "Election specialists confirm that postal voting is safe and secure, although it is increasingly used. You may still see unverified allegations indicating that postal voting leads to fraud in the 2020 American elections ".

On another post prepared by the social network, it is written: "With the increase in postal votes, it is possible that the election results will be announced late. This means that you could see candidates claiming, without confirmation, their victory ".
