The Sudanese newspaper Al-Sudani reported that Washington will host a ceremony for the signing of a Sudanese-Israeli peace treaty next December, while the Palestinian Prime Minister described it as a "fall of the century."

The newspaper added - according to informed sources in the Sudanese government - that Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok rejected an American proposal to organize an immediate celebration in Washington, similar to the summit that was held last August and included Israeli, Emirati and Bahraini delegations.

The newspaper said that Hamdok believes that the peace treaty should be signed after the formation of the expected Legislative Council to decide on the agreement.

For his part, the head of the Sudanese National Umma Party, Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, described the government's proceeding with normalization measures with Israel as empty talk, and the words of those who do not have those who do not deserve.

In a press statement, Al-Mahdi stressed that the transitional government does not have the right to decide on contentious issues, and that what is happening is subjugation and is not normalization, according to him, announcing his refusal to visit any Israeli delegation to Khartoum.

Mahdi said that the Sudanese should not save Netanyahu from the expected prison, and help Trump win the US elections.

Fall of the Century

In Ramallah, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said that the Palestinians had watched with great pain the accession of the State of Sudan to the path of normalization with Israel.

Shtayyeh described the Sudanese move as a "fall of the century" that the Palestinians did not want their Sudanese brothers to fall into.

Shtayyeh added at the beginning of the weekly session of his government that no one has the right to decide on behalf of the Palestinian people, and he is the only one who possesses the key to peace in the region, as he put it.

Betrayal of Sudan and its history

In the same context, the International Islamic Forum of Parliamentarians condemned the regime's embarking on the comprehensive normalization of its relations with Israel.

The forum said in a statement that this is a betrayal of the Sudanese people and its history, and of the Palestinian people and their cause.
