Majestic and arrogant, crossing the Yalu River...

A song has been sung from generation to generation,

  That majestic melody,

Condensed the collective memory of a country.

"Keep in mind the great victory and defend peace and justice-the theme exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers to fight abroad to resist US aggression and aid Korea" was officially opened to the public on the same day at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution.

Strong, the Chinese people are determined, overcome difficulties, and finally won the great course of victory in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

In the exhibition hall, there is a special set of landscapes of "Fighting against Changjin Lake".

On November 27, 1950, on the Eastern Front, the main U.S. forces clamoring "to end the war before Christmas" entered the volunteer ambush area.

The world-famous "Battle of Changjin Lake" started in the blizzard that evening.

During the battle, the Volunteers completely wiped out the famous 7th Division 31st Regiment "Polar Bear Regiment" and captured the regimental flag, completing the feat of annihilating the US Legion-level troops for the first time in our army's history.

After the war, this dough flag was preserved in the military museum as a national first-class protected cultural relic and was displayed in this exhibition.

The Battle of Changjin Lake was so tragic that many military fans even called it "a battle that both sides are not willing to look back".

In the freezing cold of minus 40 degrees in North Korea in winter, the volunteers lacking cold-preventing equipment gritted their teeth with the spirit of "less steel and more gas" and fought fiercely with the US military, resulting in serious non-combat attrition.

The 5th Company of the 242nd Regiment of the 81st Division was ordered to set an ambush during the American retreat.

When the battle started, no one stood up and charged.

A whole company of cadres and soldiers who had already started a battle formation froze to death in a simple bunker.

"I love my relatives and my motherland/I love my honor even more/I am a glorious volunteer soldier/Ice and snow/I will never succumb to you/Even if it freezes to death/I will stand proudly on my ground."

While sorting out the relics, the comrades in arms discovered this outstanding poem by Song Amao, a soldier of the "Ice Sculpture Company".

Today, decades later, the stories and spirit behind the poems still make countless people cry.

Friends who are familiar with the model dramas will certainly not be unfamiliar with the story of "Surprise Attack on the White Tigers".

In the Battle of Jincheng in the final stage of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the "White Tiger Regiment", the first regiment of the capital division of South Korea's ace troops, crossed the "38th Line" and continuously provoked in an attempt to realize the "Northern Advance Plan."

Volunteers attacked decisively. Yang Yucai, a first-level combat hero who was good at special operations, led the reconnaissance team directly into the enemy's heart, attacked the White Tiger regiment headquarters, captured the regimental flag and retreated all over, supporting the frontline operations.

This story was later put on the screen and compiled into a Peking opera. "Never let the gang of American Li bandits escape alone" has become a popular chant for generations of Chinese.

  Keywords: "The Coldest Gun"

The Su-Mosin-Nagan M1944 rifle displayed in the exhibition hall looks ordinary, but it has achieved earth-shattering results.

In Shangganling, its owner used it to kill and wound 214 enemies with 436 bullets in 32 days, setting a record for the Chinese People's Volunteers to kill an enemy coldly on the Korean battlefield.

This number is a miracle in the history of world wars.

And the most legendary thing is that, despite many battles and repeated distress, the owner of this gun was unscathed and retreated.

In the middle and late stages of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the positions of both sides entered a state of tug-of-war. In order to massively kill and consume the so-called "United Nations" active forces, the Volunteer Army launched a cold gun and cold gun campaign, using high-density, low-intensity, and small-scale snipers to attack the enemy.

In early 1953, Zhang Taofang, a well-known sharpshooter in the army, stationed at the 597.9 position in Shangganling and used this rifle without a scope to hunt down the enemy at a distance of 100 to 400 meters.

The enemy soldiers were beaten by him to hide in the fortifications and did not dare to appear.

The U.S. Army even specially assigned a sniper to confront Zhang Taofang, and was also killed.

In addition to single-handedly killing the enemy, Zhang Taofang also trained a number of "marksman" comrades, some of which also killed more than a hundred enemies.

Shangganling has since been nicknamed "Sniper Ridge".

In 1953, the headquarters of the Volunteer Army gave Zhang Taofang Rongji a special service, and awarded him the honorary title of "second class hero". The Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of Korea awarded him the "first class national flag medal."

After the war, Zhang Taofang signed up to participate in the selection of pilots and was successfully selected with excellent results. He became the first-generation fighter pilot of New China and continued to write a legend in his new post.

The great victory is hard to come by.

During the war, more than 2.9 million volunteers went to North Korea to participate in the war, and 197653 martyrs died.

Yang Gensi, Huang Jiguang, and Luo Shengjiao are outstanding representatives among them.

In the exhibition hall are displayed 200 heroes' biographies, each of which is a vivid heroic deed.

2 super heroes, 50 first-class heroes, 4 first-class model, 270 second-class heroes, 83 second-class model, 244 martyrs above regiment... their names are engraved in the exhibition hall, written in the biography, and Will be remembered forever by the people of China and North Korea.

Over the past few decades, the story of resisting US aggression and aid to Korea has faded away.

There are still three thousand miles of rivers and mountains on the peninsula.

However, the heroes of the Volunteer Army resting in Jindalai’s blooming place; those millions of heroes who used primitive equipment and flesh and blood to make America’s powerful war machine "the 38th line"; those who bravely supported the front The enemy's powerful artillery sent support to every cadre and masses of soldiers. Their tremendous dedication in this just battle is a monument that will last forever in the hearts of the younger generations.

After the gunpowder dissipated, the era when Western colonists could enslaved a country by setting up a few cannons on the eastern coast was gone.

Pieces of speechless cultural relics in the exhibition hall are the proudest shadows left by the heroes to Chinese history.
