The government "does not intend to give up" the "major reform" of unemployment insurance, said Monday Jean Castex after a meeting with the social partners to whom he announced "a further postponement of three months "of this reform.

The executive agreed in July to suspend this reform until January 1, which provides for a hardening of 4 to 6 months of work to open up rights and a reform of the method of calculating unfavorable benefits to those who alternate unemployment and short contracts. .

During the meeting with the unions, the issue of teleworking was also "widely discussed" and "we will undoubtedly say in the week the decisions that we are going to take in this matter", added the head of government during a meeting. hurry.

The Prime Minister recalled wanting to complete "all the other reforms which aim to transform, modernize our country, make it stronger and fairer", while stressing that "more than ever dialogue and consultation are indispensable ", particularly" in the very serious circumstances that our country is going through ".

On this subject the "extremely strong" measures taken to "mitigate the" economic and social impact "are getting results," added Mr. Castex, mentioning the plan for youth employment, whose figures for August and September are "encouraging, especially in the area of ​​learning".

The head of government also underlined the use of long-term partial activity, vocational training and retraining of employees "which we must by any means favor over layoffs".

"These concrete results are made possible by social dialogue" while "agreements in companies, in professional branches have never been so numerous".

"It is the best antidote to the crisis", he hammered.
