The Algerian Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Jarad, denounced what he described as "popular relaxation" by the citizens of his country, regarding adherence to measures to prevent the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), whose daily infections are accelerating.

Jarad said in a statement reported by the Algerian News Agency: “After controlling the health situation and recording very encouraging results, signs of relaxation appeared calling us to fear the re-emergence of hotbeds of infection again, which should urge us, not only to caution, but we must first of all to We strive for a stronger mobilization and the commitment of everyone to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. ”

The statement added that the government “urges citizens to increase their vigilance and remain in solidarity, and to continue to fight the Corona virus with all resolve, as the pandemic is witnessing a worrying recovery at the international level, and a tendency towards an exacerbation of the epidemiological situation.”

The statement stressed "the necessity of continuing to exercise individual and collective responsibility to protect the lives of patients and citizens, and to share the burden that medical teams bear in particular."

He added, "In this special period, which is characterized by a controlled and gradual resumption of economic activity, school and university entry, and the resumption of Friday prayers in mosques, all efforts must be made to maintain maximum vigilance, and to maintain all preventive and protective measures."

After a slow decline over a period of weeks in the number of daily injuries, Algeria, which continues to close its borders, has witnessed an acceleration in the rate of injuries for about 10 days.

Algeria, with a population of 44 million, has recorded 56,143 cases of "Covid-19" since the outbreak of the epidemic, including 1914 deaths, and about 40 thousand recoveries.

Two days ago, the Algerian presidency announced that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had decided to adhere to the recommendation of the medical staff to the presidency and to "initiate voluntary quarantine", after the symptoms of HIV infection appeared on people in the presidency and the prime minister.
