During 2019 and half of 2020, Skellefteå municipality paid 49 people a total of SEK 5,534,965 in various agreements, figures from the municipalities requested by SVT show.

In total, between 2015 and 2019, the municipality has spent just over SEK 30 million, to get rid of staff in purchases or various agreements.

It is about one person a week, something Folkbladet was the first to tell about in a major review.

Defects found

SVT has requested the same information from the municipality and it is clear that it is mainly women who have been bought out.

For the most part, these are assistant nurses, care assistants, personal assistants and housing supervisors.

The main reason given is personal reasons or rehab.

Following the call in the Facebook group "Shut up and obey", where municipal employees testified about work environment problems, the municipality appointed an external investigation this year which found more shortcomings.

The municipality has since developed an action program with 13 points.

"A lot of money"

- The measures have not been implemented yet, but I feel that we have a better dialogue today, even though a lot of money could have been spent on hiring more people instead, says Jonas Classon at the trade union Kommunal.

In the clip, you hear the union and Skellefteå's human resources manager about why such large sums are being spent on getting rid of employees.
