A real danger for other road users.

The gendarmes of the motorized peloton of Saint-Herblain announced that they had arrested a young motorist on Sunday traveling at a speed of 189 km / h (retained 179 km / h) on the RD 17 near Cordemais, west of Nantes.

This departmental road was limited to 80 km / h.

Seated at the controls of a powerful vehicle, the driver was just 18 years old and did not even have a driver's license.

This is undoubtedly the reason why "he accelerated on seeing the gendarmes so as not to be checked", quips the Loire-Atlantique gendarmerie.

As if that were not enough, the road was sprayed with rain, "which multiplies by two the braking distance compared to dry ground", recalls the gendarmerie.

The car was the subject of a judicial immobilization measure.
