According to him, the German government is "forced to take note" of Erdogan's statements regarding Macron.

"These are disgraceful statements that are completely unacceptable, especially in light of the terrible murder of a teacher by an Islamic fanatic," Seibert was quoted by TASS.

He recalled that Erdogan also criticized the searches carried out by the German police in a mosque in Berlin last week.

"The German law enforcement agencies act on the basis of legislation," Seibert stressed.

He noted that accusations of discrimination against a certain group of believers in Germany are "in principle a mistake."

Earlier, Erdogan spoke about "Macron's anti-Islamic attacks" and "racist terrorism", calling the words of the French president a threat to national security.

In addition, he called on the Turkish people to boycott French goods.

Erdogan also recommended Macron to "test his psyche," Anadolu reported.

In the Netherlands, Erdogan's statements about Macron were called inadmissible.
