Bayer Leverkusen, winner of Augsburg 3 to 1 at the end of the 5th day of the German Championship on Monday, signed their third consecutive victory in all competitions after going to beat Mainz on the previous day before strangling Nice in the Europa League.

Thanks to this success, Bayer climbed to the foot of the podium in the standings, three points behind Bayern Munich (2nd) and Borussia Dortmund (3rd) and four points behind the leader, RB Leipzig.

Argentinian Lucas Alario opened the scoring for Bayer on a penalty for an opposing hand from a corner (16th).

He gave his team back the advantage after Augsburg equalized by Daniel Caligiuri (51st), with a superb header on a cross from the left (74th).

Diaby finished off with one against Leverkusen's victory (90th + 4).

Bayer Leverkusen are still undefeated this season: before these three consecutive victories, the team coached by Peter Bosz had chained 3 draws.
