The current Egyptian parliamentary battle is being contested by three candidates from the family of the late former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat, after a fourth apology, who is considered the most prominent opposition figure in the family in recent years, and is the head of the Reform and Development Party, Mohamed Anwar Sadat.

The list of "Al-Sadat family" candidates includes Abbas Esmat Al-Sadat, Karim Talaat Al-Sadat, and Muhammad Esmat Al-Sadat.

The nomination of these names comes as a continuation of the family's battle in the legislative councils in Egypt earlier, as Sameh Muhammad Ismat al-Sadat recently won the Senate seat for the Tala district in Monufia in the recent elections in Egypt.

In parallel, Thana Mubarak, the cousin of the late former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, announced her candidacy in the ongoing elections.

In a media statement, Thana Mubarak said that she is "waging the battle, not relying on money or power," but with the encouragement and support of her husband, Saad al-Bagouri and her daughter Hajar.
