26 October 2020New wave of bad weather with thunderstorms and winds up to storms in the Center-North, the civil protection signals orange alert in Liguria and Lombardy. "A vast Atlantic sack, with the contribution of colder air of polar origin, determines - explains the Department of Civil Protection - starting from the next night, weather conditions markedly perturbed on most of the northern Italian regions, gradually extending to the central regions; in particular, the phenomena will be more relevant on Tuscany and Sardinia. The bad weather phase will also be accompanied by a general and significant strengthening of the winds ". On the basis of available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - has issued a notice of conditions adverse weather conditions. 



From the early hours of today, the notice provides for widespread rainfall, predominantly a downpour or thunderstorm, on Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, gradually extending to Veneto and Sardinia.

The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.

In the morning, moreover, strong to stormy winds are expected from the southern quadrants on Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, gradually extending to Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise, with more intense gusts on the relative coastal sectors and Apennine ridges.

Storm storms expected along the exposed coasts.On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, an orange alert was assessed for the day over a large part of Lombardy and central and eastern Liguria.

Yellow alert was also assessed in Umbria, Lazio, Sardinia, the rest of Liguria and sectors of Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Abruzzo.
