"Abu Dhabi for Development" supports Sudan with "556.5" million within the UAE grant amounting to $ 1.5 billion

His Excellency Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, confirmed that the fund, in cooperation with the Sudanese government, had implemented during the last period an aid package worth about $ 556.5 million to support the financial and economic sector, in addition to providing support for the health, educational, food and agricultural sectors, as part of the fund’s continuing provision of aid programs Allocated to the brotherly Sudanese people to complete the remainder of the UAE grant, which amounts to $ 1.5 billion.

His Excellency Muhammad Saif Al Suwaidi said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency "WAM" ... that the assistance provided to the Sudanese people comes under the generous directions of the country's wise leadership, which is keen to ensure the stability of the financial and economic situation in Sudan.

He added that the UAE is committed to continuing to implement the aid package it has approved, amounting to a total of $ 1.5 billion, dedicated to meeting the needs of the Sudanese people of basic commodities, in addition to achieving financial and economic stability that the Sudanese government is seeking.

His Excellency affirmed that the fund, in cooperation with the Sudanese government, has implemented during the last period an aid package worth about $ 556.5 million to support the financial and economic sector, in addition to providing support for the health, education, food and agricultural sectors, pointing out that the fund continues to provide aid programs intended for the Sudanese people to complete the remainder From the UAE grant of $ 1.5 billion.

In April 2019, the United Arab Emirates pledged to provide a package of economic aid to Sudan, with a total value of 1.5 billion US dollars, to achieve economic and financial stability and support the health, education, food and agricultural sectors.

In the context of aid, the UAE, through the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, deposited $ 250 million in the Central Bank of Sudan and provided support for the Sudanese government’s budget of $ 119.8 million.

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development received 540 thousand tons of wheat, valued at $ 144.7 million, in addition to providing the supply of "wheat packing bags" with a value of $ 10.8 million.

The aid included the provision of 136 tons of medicines and medical needs, valued at $ 19.75 million, in addition to the supply of study and educational supplies and tools to cover the needs of 400,000 students, valued at $ 11.4 million.
