- It is important to show that we stand up to hatred.

We must simply never give up, says Jon Bylund from Falu Pride to P4 Dalarna.

About 30 people had gathered on Saturday to paint the rainbow stairs in pleasant shapes.

- We are everything from children to pensioners, we have music, we mask and have a generally nice time here, Bylund reported from the stairs yesterday.

After it was vandalized with white paint for the second time last weekend, Jon Bylund told SVT Nyheter Dalarna that they wanted to put a positive spin on it.

- We have fun around this and make it a good thing.

I think this event contributes to even more people getting involved in issues that the stairs actually symbolize - diversity and community, Bylund said.

Both times, Falu municipality has cleaned up the stairs and volunteers have since stopped to paint it again.
