The man is registered at one of the addresses with a wife together with their children.

At the other addresses are written two other women, who are also registered as married to the man, and his children.

Nacka municipality has bought the apartments in question and uses these as walk-through apartments that new arrivals can use during the period of two years that the new arrival has its establishment support from the Swedish Public Employment Service, according to Metro's Viral Reviewer.

It is today illegal in Sweden to enter into polygamy and it is punishable.

But there are also different regulations that say that if you come from another country and got married a long time ago, there is an arrangement that says that we respect each other's legislation.

Thus, it is not illegal if you have entered into a polygamous marriage outside Sweden and are not a Swedish citizen.

- But even there, there is an opportunity among the authorities to make an exception if it violates the Swedish legal system, says Minister of Migration Heléne Fritzon (S).

Many have reacted

Both on social media and to SVT News, there have been strong reactions to the case.

- What we react to is that in this particular case, it is about a family that is divided into three homes, a cost of almost 14 million kronor, we think it is an insane way to handle the municipal residents' money, says David Berqvist (SD).

- We mean that in this case it is also about a family, where we have three wives and a husband, that is, a polygamy family.

Nacka municipality will arrange accommodation for 340 asylum seekers who are allocated by the Swedish Migration Board and the municipality has previously protested.

The people renounce the right of possession of the apartments and may only live in them for a limited time, the municipality informs Metro.

- I see it as a huge challenge, regardless of what the family constellations look like, says Mats Gerdau (M) municipal councilor Nacka municipality.

- We must follow the law, we can not do as the Swedish Transport Agency and choose which laws we should follow and which we should ignore. This law applies, then you have to comply with it, says Mats Gerdau (M).

Want to investigate polygamy

Minister of Migration Helene Fritzon is now asking the Swedish Tax Agency to review the 300 cases of polygamy that exist in Sweden and the government has for a couple of weeks prepared an assignment to the Swedish Tax Agency to find out what it looks like and make an analysis of polygamy in the population register.

Based on that, the government can go ahead and see if a change in Swedish law is needed or not.

But we must have all the facts first before we move on, says Heléne Fritzon (S).
