Bio-inspired, another approach

Culture> Expo - 9-12 euros

"Nature is self-sufficient" said Friedrich Hegel.

This is indeed what gives us to see and understand the new permanent exhibition of the City of Science and Industry, "Inspired bio, another approach".

Between defense mechanisms and spectacular adaptations, the organisms present in nature know how to adapt to their environment and its changes.

This exhibition, composed of three interior ecosystems (a mangrove, a 4000L aquarium and 45m² of forest areas, all populated by animal species), quizzes, games and various playful manipulations, gives us to see the incredible genius of bio-diversity of the earth.

An essential exhibition thought through the scientific prism in order to reflect on new solutions in terms of sustainable development and ecology.

Various objects used as currency of exchange - Monnaie de Paris

Akan, the values of exchange

Culture> Expo - 0-12 euros

Akan, the values of exchange, Gold for currency, weight for price.

The Akan peoples (West Africa), the Ashanti in particular, used gold as a means of payment until colonial currencies were imposed at the beginning of the 20th century.

Preserved in powder form in small boxes, this gold was weighed by means of scales and weights, the innumerable variety of which never ceases to amaze.

More than 2,000 of these weights are kept in the collection of the Monnaie de Paris, thanks to various bequests and donations, the last of which occurred in 2018.
