"I joined the Korean War in August 1952 and returned to China in December 1954. Although it was only more than two years, it has become an indelible memory in my life." Wang Xiuyun, an 89-year-old retired employee of Qilu Petrochemical, was at home on the 23rd. Accepted an interview with reporters.

After the outbreak of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in 1950, it was heard that medical personnel were urgently needed on the front line. At that time, Wang Xiuyun, a nurse at the Central Military Commission Engineering School Hospital, voluntarily applied to the organization and volunteered to participate in the war in North Korea.

In August 1952, the hospital party committee approved her request, and Wang Xiuyun, who was 19 years old, was transferred to the 21st Division Hospital of the Katyusha Rocket Artillery Division directly under the Headquarters of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

After the hospital went to North Korea to participate in the war, it was changed to a health company.

As the only lesbian in the company, Wang Xiuyun did everything like a gay man and became a famous "tomboy hygienist" in the company.

Wang Xiuyun said that the Katyusha rocket is very powerful. When it fires, the sound of the artillery is like thunder and the fire is like a dragon.

After finishing a salvo, you need to immediately move your position, otherwise it will be quickly discovered by the enemy's reconnaissance opportunities.

When the weather is good, enemy planes generally dare not come, but in foggy weather and low visibility, enemy planes will sneak attack on the antiaircraft artillery positions.

Wang Xiuyun recalled that Lien Li once sent her on duty at the anti-aircraft artillery position. At that time, three enemy planes bombed her position in the foggy weather. When the enemy plane flew past, the sound of the bomb dropped and the explosion of our anti-aircraft artillery fired. one slice.

During the battle, Liu Si, a gunner, suffered a serious head injury and blood flow continued. He was not allowed to bandage his eyes even if his eyes were muddled, and endured severe pain to knock out an enemy plane.

When Wang Xiuyun cleaned up Liu Si's wound, he did not say a word.

At that moment, Wang Xiuyun deeply felt the iron and blood of Chinese soldiers.

Liu Sihou was awarded the honorable title of Volunteer Army's first-class combat hero. He set a record for 131 artillery shells to shoot down an enemy plane.

Wang Xiuyun's health company not only treats the staff of the division, but also treats the wounded of neighboring brother forces, the Korean People's Army, and North Korean civilians.

One day, a North Korean elementary school in Getiandong where the health company was located was bombed by an enemy plane for exposing the target. The company commander ordered Liu Junyi, health workers, and Wang Xiuyun to go for rescue.

They rushed up at the risk of being bombed by an enemy plane.

There was a little girl whose eyes were wounded and her eyes came out, which was terrible.

Wang Xiuyun and his comrades did their best to stop the bleeding, bandage and fix the children.

After being dealt with on the battlefield, he was immediately sent to the base hospital.

"The ward of the Sanitation Company dug a hole on the side of the hillside, put wood on it, covered it with branches and grass. The bed was made of branches, and when it rained continuously, the roof leaked. The wounded patient had to hang a tarp on the bed. "Wang Xiuyun told reporters that she was in charge of giving injections, changing dressings, and feeding water to the wounded.

Enemy planes blocked the station 24 hours a day. They had to change to rest during the day and work at night. At night, they could only use candles or flashlights for injection and dressing.

Wang Xiuyun was in the ward 24 hours a day, eating two bites of fried noodles when he was hungry, and lying on a raincloth next to the bedside of the sick at night when he was tired.
