“We have no material evidence of the involvement of Alexander Vinnik in the Locky virus,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying at a court hearing.

According to the prosecution, about 200 companies and individuals in France were affected by the Locky virus program.

The prosecutor asked Vinnik, suspected of identity theft and extortion, to be sentenced to ten years' imprisonment, as well as a fine of € 750,000.

On October 19, a new series of court hearings in the Vinnik case began in the Paris Correctional Court.

Alexander Vinnik was arrested in Greece in 2017 at the request of the United States, where he is accused of creating a cryptocurrency exchange without a license from the American authorities, through which, according to the United States, billions of dollars were laundered.

On January 24, it became known about Vinnik's extradition from Athens to Paris.
