His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, called on citizens, institutions and ministries to revive the event of raising the Emirati flag on the third of next November at 11 am simultaneously, as an expression of the unity of the Emirati home and the unity of destiny.

Vice President of the State:

"The flag is a symbol of our sovereignty, unity, and eternal belonging to the United Arab Emirates."

His Highness said in a tweet posted yesterday on “Twitter”: “Brothers and sisters, our country will celebrate Flag Day soon ... a symbol of our sovereignty, unity and eternal belonging to the United Arab Emirates.

We call on our citizens, institutions and ministries to unite it on November 3, eleven in the morning, simultaneously, and with a beating heart ... to express the unity of our home and the unity of our destiny.

The “Flag Day” initiative is a renewed national occasion that the people of the Emirates, both citizens and residents, celebrate annually, coinciding with the commemoration of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, assuming power on the third of November 2004.

The Flag Day initiative reflects the culture of respect for the flag and its sanctity as a symbol of the state’s sovereignty and unity, in addition to being a symbol of the nation and belonging to it.

The event also contributes to linking community members in a common societal activity, which confirms the unity of efforts to serve the Emirates and raise its flag, which strengthens the sense of patriotism among Emiratis and residents of the state, and confirms the sincerity of their loyalty and belonging to the leadership and the homeland.
