Measures are needed, with priority for the areas most affected, that favor a drastic reduction in physical interactions between people and that can ease the pressure on health services, including restrictions on non-activities. essentials and restrictions on mobility ".

which indicate 19,143 new infections and 91 deaths with 182,032 swabs in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday there were 16,079 new infections, 136 deaths with 170,392 swabs.

The situation in Italy shows signs of the criticality of local services and of the "imminent achievement of critical thresholds for assistance services".

The evidence of rapidly increasing cases with a national Rt of 1.5 in its average value and significantly above 1 indicate a situation "overall and widely very serious on the national territory with the risk of important short-term critical issues in numerous Italian Regions / PAs".

Hospitalizations are

"The number of cases of covid-19 in our country is growing considerably and rapidly, and hospitalizations and intensive care are unfortunately increasing".

Professor Gianni Rezza, director of the ISS, says this in the weekly report on the progress of the infection.

"The number of outbreaks that occur at school level is gradually increasing and extra-school activities must be kept under attention".

"This decrease is probably due to the sharp increase in cases for which the territorial services could not identify an epidemiological link: 23,018 cases not associated with known transmission chains were reported (compared to 9,291 last week) which corresponds to 43.5% of the total number of cases notified this week. "

Outbreaks have been reported in almost all the provinces: 106 out of 107. 

It is essential that the population stay at home when possible and reduce all the opportunities for contact with people outside their own home that are not strictly necessary.

We remind you that it is mandatory to adopt rigorous individual behaviors and to comply with the sanitary measures set up regarding spacing and correct use of masks.
