Donald Trump and Joe Biden face off Thursday for a final televised debate in Nashville, Tennessee, less than two weeks away from the presidential election.

Their reunion, after a first very tense debate, promises to be explosive.

Are we going to witness a new boxing fight between Donald Trump and Joe Biden?

The American president and his Democratic rival meet Thursday for a final televised debate, just 12 days before the presidential election, in an extremely tense context.

Their first debate, at the end of September, had turned into a fist, Joe Biden treating Donald Trump as a "racist" and a "clown", the latter replying in particular with a scathing: "There is nothing intelligent about you".

And there is nothing to indicate that the tone will be more courteous or more constructive this time.

The microphones of the two candidates will be cut when they will not have the floor

Fearing to be the president of a single term, the Republican has accentuated in recent days his personal attacks on the integrity of his opponent, hammering that the Biden family is a "criminal enterprise".

To avoid the cacophony of their first confrontation, the microphones of the two candidates will be cut when they will not have the floor.

"I think it's very unfair," said Donald Trump Wednesday night from the White House, also reiterating his criticism of moderator Kristen Welker, whom he accuses of being "a hardened Democratic leftist".

Argument notably advanced by the American president: the fact that the parents of this journalist of 44 years are fervent democrats.

Donald Trump had refused a virtual debate on October 15, a format proposed to avoid the risk of infection after his positive diagnosis with the coronavirus.

Due to the pandemic, the two candidates will this time be separated by plexiglass walls.

Joe Biden stayed at home, Donald Trump still ubiquitous in the field

For the third day in a row, Joe Biden stayed at home in Delaware with no public events on his agenda.

It was former President Barack Obama who rose to the front line, after months of virtual campaigning.

"I'm not interested in the polls," he said from Philadelphia, recalling that they were favorable in 2016 to Hillary Clinton before her surprise defeat.

True to his strategy, centered on omnipresence on the ground, Donald Trump took part in a campaign rally in North Carolina on Wednesday evening.

The US president has been hammering for several weeks, without concrete evidence to support it, that the Biden family is guilty of corruption, and called on the Minister of Justice to investigate.

His angle of attack?

Hunter Biden's business in Ukraine and China, when his father, Joe, was Vice President to Barack Obama (2009-2017).

Very sensitive to attacks against his family, which sometimes cause him to get carried away, Joe Biden must prepare the parade for these expected blows.
