The hostel in Luleå has ten beds and last winter 31 Luleå residents and 27 others slept at the accommodation, according to operations manager Anna-Sol Renberg, who was shocked when the news of the closure came.
- We became completely desperate and very worried.
We hope that there will either be another solution or that we will be allowed to stay.
Luleå municipality believes that they must change strategy to best take care of the homeless and that they will be able to loose a roof over their heads for everyone who needs it. The hostel will close in February so the municipality has until then to re-direct the business and find a new solution.
