The association sent out an email to parents on Tuesday informing them of what had happened and writing that they regret the incident.
However, they do not want to go into exactly what happened but are very secretive, but according to the police, several girls in the association must have entered the station and made a report.
- These crimes have been reported and must have happened some time ago, between 2015 and 2018, says Mikael Hedström, press spokesperson at the police.
The police do not want to comment on how many incidents of sexual harassment are involved and how many girls have been affected.
- We have heard a person in this case but that person is not currently detained, says Mikael Hedström.
Did not suspect remained in the association
After the association became aware of the incident, they have chosen not to keep the suspect in the association.
- From the first day that we became aware of this, the person has not been active within the association, says vice chairman of the association to SVT Gävleborg.
Now the association will prioritize support for vulnerable and other people in the association who want it.
