The investigation into the murder of Samuel Paty continues.

Seven people were indicted, six of them for "complicity in terrorist murder", a crime punishable by life imprisonment.

This is the case of the parent of student Brahim Chnina and the sulphurous Islamist Abdelhakim Sefrioui, as well as two friends of the assailant, Naim B. and Azim E, 18 and 19 years old.

Among the six people are also two secondary school students aged 14 and 15, left free under judicial supervision but forced to live far from their department.

The two minors face 20 years in prison

The two minors risk 20 years in prison, the life sentence cannot be pronounced for minors.

The youngest is 14 years old, is of Muslim faith, and it is him that the terrorist approached the first on the day of the attack, around 2 pm.

The young teenager accepted his money, at least 300 euros, in exchange for information on Samuel Paty.

They spent at least two hours together on Friday, hiding from CCTV cameras.

Two hours during which the terrorist explained to him in particular that he wanted to film the professor, to force him to ask forgiveness for the caricature of the prophet, to humiliate him and to beat him.

The teenager was therefore aware of the bad intentions of his interlocutor.

An audio message recorded in Russian just after the fact

According to his lawyer, master Charles-Emmanuel Herbière, however, he did not know his terrorist motivations.

"He is absolutely not a radicalized, fundamentalist kid. He is a kid from a normal French family. He is a million miles from all this Islamist filth. In front of me, I had a child, a child who cried hot tears. He wasn't crying for himself, he was crying over the professor's death. "

It is therefore the lure of profit that justified his behavior, according to his lawyer.

The investigation continues to determine the degree of complicity of each and whether the attack was sponsored.

For now, we only know that just after the assassination, the terrorist contacted an Instagram account in Russian to congratulate himself on his act and that he recorded an audio message, still in Russian, in which he explains having avenged the Prophet.
