In the past week, material from a computer that allegedly belonged to Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden has attracted a lot of attention in the United States.

While the Biden campaign has denied several of the allegations that have emerged from the computer, the Trump campaign has devoted much force to the message that Biden is corrupt.

What is the revelation about?

An email allegedly sent to Joe Biden's son indicates that Hunter Biden may have helped a Ukrainian businessman get into a meeting with then-Vice President Biden.

In the alleged email, Ukrainian businessman Hunter Biden thanks for "the opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] time together."

The sentence is written in English in such a way that it can refer to an already completed meeting or a future meeting.

The Biden campaign has stated that they have gone through the Vice President's public schedule for the time being and that they cannot see that Biden has had an official meeting with the Ukrainian businessman.

Biden's closest Ukrainian adviser Mike Carpenter has also said: "There has been no meeting.

Point.

I was in all of Biden's meetings that had to do with Ukraine, and I have never heard of this man until now. "

May have gone with untruth

Both Joe Biden and Hunter Biden have previously stated that they did not talk to each other about their son's foreign affairs while Biden was vice president.

If the email is authentic and a meeting or a meeting has actually taken place, it could mean that Joe Biden has gone untruthful.

But we do not yet know this.

President Trump has used the new information to repeat the previously false claim that Biden had spent taxpayers' money to pressure Ukraine to fire a prosecutor to save the company Burisma, which Biden's son sat on the board to avoid possible corruption investigations.

An investigation led by Republicans in the Senate has concluded that Joe Biden implemented the foreign policy that the United States pursued against Ukraine and that he did not make any formal mistakes.

Allegedly there are "drug videos" on Hunter Biden

The New York Post has also published several other emails that are said to come from Hunter Biden's computer where the newspaper believes that Hunter Biden can be perceived as benefiting his family.

In a published email about a business deal in China, Biden writes that a deal was "interesting for me and my family".

In another published excerpt from an email that is said to be from May 2017, ie a few months after Joe Biden left the post of vice president, a colleague of Hunter Biden discusses percentage compensation levels.

20 percent should go to the initial "H", which can be suspected to refer to Hunter Biden.

According to the email, 70 percent will go to other recipients of the email.

At the end of the email it says "10 is held by H for the big man".

We do not know who the big man is, but Fox News states that one of the recipients of the email confirmed to them that it was Joe Biden.

We do not know the context, what kind of deal it is, or whether it became a deal at all.

According to the New York Post, the hard drive also contains video footage showing Hunter Biden using drugs.

SVT has not been able to independently verify the material on the hard drive.

In a picture published by the newspaper, the vice president's son is seen lying in bed with a so-called bong.

Hunter Biden has previously been open about his drug abuse, and a few weeks ago Joe Biden stated that he was proud that his son got through it.

Where does the information come from?

SVT Nyheter does not itself have access to the computer from which the material is alleged to come and cannot independently verify the content.

The New York Post reports that they received the hard drive from President Trump's personal lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who in turn received the material from his lawyer, who in turn received the material from a computer repairman in Wilmington, Delaware, where Hunter Biden is said to have abandoned a computer he had submitted for repair.

According to the computer repairman himself, in April 2019 he received a visit from someone who introduces himself as Hunter Biden.

The computer repairman has stated that he has a visual impairment and cannot himself confirm that it was actually the Vice President's son who handed in three water-damaged computers, but that a sticker from Hunter Biden's deceased brother's Beau Biden Foundation, on one of the computers, led him to believe that it was Hunter Biden's computer.

The computer repairman has stated that he took part in the contents of the computer, was upset and got in touch with the FBI.

According to him, the FBI later confiscated the computer, but the computer repairman made a copy of the hard drive, which he then left to Rudy Giuliani's lawyer.
