It is in a computer that allegedly belongs to Hunter Biden that the tabloid New York Post claims to have found a series of emails, pictures and videos that are compromising, especially for the businessman Hunter Biden.

Among other things, the newspaper has published an e-mail in which a Ukrainian businessman thanks Hunter Biden "for inviting me to DC and giving me an opportunity to meet your father and spend some time together".

The Biden campaign denies that any such meeting has ever taken place in Biden's official calendar.

The revelation has led President Trump and his election campaign to repeatedly call Joe Biden corrupt.

They have also reiterated a previous mantra - that Joe Biden would have spent tax money to pressure Ukraine to save a company that Biden's son sat on the board to avoid any corruption investigations.

This is despite the fact that the claim has been repeatedly refuted and that an investigation led by Republicans in the Senate has concluded that Joe Biden has not made any formal errors.

"Ask me not to talk about it"

SVT Nyheter has not been able to independently verify the material, but the New York Post received the material from President Trump's personal lawyer, who in turn received the material from a computer repairman where Hunter Biden is said to have left his computer in April 2019.

SVT Nyheter has met the computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac, who in interviews said that he does not know for sure if it was actually Hunter Biden.

He first replies that he sticks to all the comments he has made in previous interviews but then changes.

- My lawyer has asked me not to talk about this at all.

I'm sorry, he tells SVT News.

Dag Blanck, professor of North American studies at Uppsala University, says that the Republicans' focus on the revelation - rather than discussing other political issues such as the pandemic - is natural.
