Minister's message to Beirani: "He will go home"

Assignment review has told about Mahmoud Reza Beirani who 22 years ago would have been deported to Iran.

But because he lacks ID documents, Iran refused to let him into the country. 

After the Assignment Review in September this year contacted the Iranian embassy, ​​they have announced that they have established Beirani's identity - but say that they will only let in deportation convicts if they choose to return voluntarily.

- Some countries, including Iran, do not want to accept forced deportations and we believe this is contrary to international regulations.

All countries have a responsibility towards their own citizens and this also means accepting those who are forcibly rejected, says Morgan Johansson.
