The reactions of the social media users were divided towards a video clip of a young man performing what is known as "the comedy of the situation", mocking the broadcasters of the Holy Quran Radio and their manner of performance.

The security services said that they are investigating the incident and taking the necessary legal measures in this regard, based on a report from the President of the National Media Authority, Hussein Zain, who called on the concerned authorities to take all legal measures against the owner of the satirical video.

The National Media Authority confirmed in a statement that it is seeking to hold the video owner accountable for his "serious mistake" in the right of the Holy Quran Radio, with sanctity, appreciation, respect and prestige, according to the statement.

The statement stressed that the commission will not be complacent until this person receives the punishment he deserves, for "mocking media outlets that call for pride and pride, after presenting distinct and purposeful religious programs that have entrenched the values and principles of the true and central Islamic religion."

The National Media Authority has strongly warned any party or person who takes such an unacceptable low approach, which is too small to be described as even moral decay, and that it will take all legal measures against it.

The clip exploded the controversy among the pioneers of social networking sites, between those who see it as a grave offense to the Holy Quran Radio and its sacredness of the Qur’an itself, while others rejected that, stressing that the mockery was from the broadcasters and not from the radio content.

Activists launched a hashtag entitled (Support the Holy Quran Radio), expressing their rejection of the satirical passage, and through it the tweeters shared their memories with the prestigious radio station, while others shared clips of senior readers and pictures of famous broadcasters, and some chose to share clips of young people imitating the commas and invocations that the radio was famous for.

Tweeters defended the decision to investigate the incident, asserting that the radio represents a symbolism in the consciousness of Muslims and was linked to the voices of its broadcasters, and it should never - in their opinion - be the object of ridicule, and there are many things that can be mocked instead of religious broadcasting.

On the other hand, others defended the young man’s right to ridicule the performance of the broadcasters, especially as he did not address the content of the radio and its religious programs, criticizing the continuation of the policy of silencing and abolishing freedom of opinion and expression.

A third party was not preoccupied with the same sarcasm, but rather stopped at the recent transformation of the prestigious radio station, as it drifted to talk in favor of Sisi along the line, and to provide the legitimate cover for his controversial policies.

This team believed that maybe if what happened against the Holy Quran Radio broadcasting 7 years ago, and before the military coup in July 2013, the masses would react differently and the rate of anger at the mockery would have increased, but the radio may now pay the price of the severe political division in Egypt now.

Some of them compared the freedom to ridicule the Holy Quran broadcasting, the inability to politically mock or criticize the regime of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as well as mock the symbols of the Egyptian Church.

The Holy Quran Radio began its first broadcast on March 29, 1964, as the first radio station specialized in the Holy Qur’an and Islamic programs. Among the most famous readers whose recordings were broadcast or read by them were Sheikh Muhammad Refaat, Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, Mustafa Ismail, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hosari and Muhammad Minshawi friend.
