According to the Robert Koch Institut, there were 7,595 in the last 24 hours (6,868 yesterday) bringing the total to 380,762.

The most affected Länder are North Rhine-Westphalia with +2,189 cases compared to the previous day, Bavaria with +1,222 and Baden-Württemberg with +973.

As for the deaths, 39 others were reported, 9,875 in all.

The covid therefore continues to spread in the country, but the mortality figures currently - again according to the Robert Koch Institut - (starting from the second week of August) are clearly below 1%.

The county of South Yorkshire will enter level 3 of the Covid emergency alert next Saturday, the highest foreseen by the government.

The Czech Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamacek, who is even the interior minister tested positive for Covid-19: This was reported by Reuters.
