It is the students in grades four and five at Fjällboskolan in Gothenburg who are allowed to stay at home after several students and guardians fell ill with covid-19, something that GP was the first to write about.

- I have seen that more and more people get symptoms and become ill, not only students but also guardians.

This is an indication that things are not going in the right direction, says Yvonne Alhäll, principal at Fjällboskolan.

It is the school councilor Helen Odenjung (L) and the infection control in Västra Götaland who made the decision with the principal's reports as a basis.

Are the students seriously ill?

- They are sick and at home with symptoms, but not so serious that they had to go to hospital, says Yvonne Alhäll.

Timely with autumn holidays

The distance learning for the two years will continue for the rest of the week.

But the week after, it is autumn break, which could help to slow down the infection.

- Last spring, when it was Easter break, we saw great benefit from it.

When the infection increased in other parts of society, we did not see the same development in the school.

Can it be relevant to teach more year courses at a distance?

- No idea, but I hope not.

I hope this measure has an effect and if the infection continues to increase, we will have to make a new assessment, says Yvonne Alhäll.
